TOXCON 2012: Toxicology at the Crossroad

Language
The official language of the presentations (lectures and posters) will be English.

Publication
Participants will obtain the Abstract Book in English after registration. There will be the possibility to publish contributions in extenso in the journals Neuroendocrinology Letters or Interdisciplinary Toxicology. Participants willing to publish their presentation in journals should submit their manuscripts upon registration, at the latest.
Topics
The main topics of the upcoming Conference will be environmental and industrial toxicology, experimental and clinical toxicology, and last but not least an important problem of the contemporary world – bioterrorism and related military toxicology.
The meeting will start with the educational seminar Advanced Toxicology Course. During the three-day educational course, the participants will receive comprehensive information on basic principles of toxicology, comparison of in vitro and in vivo toxicology and the use of advanced and alternative techniques.

Information about toxicology in EUHistory
The history of bilateral meetings of Czech and Slovak toxicologists began 14 years ago. Despite the split of the former Czechoslovak Federation into two independent states in 1993, scientific as well as friendly bonds between Slovak and Czech researches have never been interrupted. Moreover, mutual cooperation of both countries continues on a higher level within bilateral scientific projects, by organising conferences and exchange study stays, now in the frame of the common European Union. In order to carry on the long tradition of interdisciplinary toxicological conferences regularly held in the Medical House in Prague, since 1996 these meetings were held in various Slovak and Czech locations organised by turns in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
