CONTINUED EDUCATION COURSE
Programme of the Educational Seminar:
Day I: Sep 23, 2014
14:00 - REGISTRATION
Detailed programme will be updated soon.
----------------------------------------------------------------
The educational course will be followed by a meeting of toxicologists. The individual conference contributions (lectures, poster presentations, working groups) will be spread over three days of the rich scientific programme. Each day will be dedicated to one central topic presented by a highly experienced key-note speaker. An important part of the Conference will be the discussion on toxicity testing within the new EU legislation (EC 1907/2006) - REACH - Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical Substances. The new law came into force on June 1, 2007. The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. A further aim is to enhance the innovative capability and competitiveness of the EU chemical industry. The benefits of the REACH system will gradually become manifest, as more and more substances are included into REACH.
History
The history of bilateral meetings of Czech and Slovak toxicologists began 16 years ago. Despite the split of the former Czechoslovak Federation into two independent states in 1993, scientific as well as friendly bonds between Slovak and Czech researches have never been interrupted. Moreover, mutual cooperation of both countries continues on a higher level within bilateral scientific projects, by organising conferences and exchange study stays, now in the frame of the common European Union. In order to carry on the long tradition of interdisciplinary toxicological conferences regularly held in the Medical House in Prague, since 1996 these meetings were held in various Slovak and Czech locations organised by turns in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
